Brand New 405nm PHR-803T Blu Ray Laser DiodeDescription

I am selling Brand New 405nm Blu Ray PHR-803T Laser Diodes (link to the HDDVD sled it came from) (the laser that burns or reads the HDDVD). It is a 405nm diode (fits a 12x30mm Laser Module case). Read up on making a laser from this laser diode in this very informative thread on LPF. BEWARE this laser is VERY VERY dangerous and will burn your eyes making you blind if you ever look into it, so DONT.

This is a 405nm diode laser. I will package the laser diode wrapped in aluminum foil to short out the pins to avoid any ESD, then place that in an anti-static bag as to protect it from static electricity, place that bag a small plastic box to prevent damage during shipment and put that in another zip lock bag to prevent any possible weather damage and ship it in a protected bubble wrap mailer. Do not hesitate to email me with any questions.

I recommend driving these at 100mA to get a high power at around 60-100mW, and have a stable long life. Forward Voltage (Vf) across the diode is ~5V. Heat sinking is recommended for any higher currents, and using a short Duty Cycle is recommended as well. These diodes can be pushed further but do so on your own risk. Check out this PHR-803T Current vs. Power graph made by DrLava and another made by Zom-B. Each diode varies but this gives you a general idea of what power you will get at a specific current.

Also I will be including 1 Glow In The Dark tail cap (dust cover) with each 405nm laser order (1 per total order). If you want more than 1 you can get them here. They fit on the front of the module over the focusing knob and can help keep dust from collecting on your lens. Also has a neat flashlight effect when the 405nm laser is turned on with the tail cap still on :). See pictures below.
